  16. This is a fairly conventional letter example. The above commands will
  17. write the current date in the upper right corner of the page and
  18. redirect the address information to the file called (surprise!) address
  19. which the program (surprise again!) _address_ can write on a letter.

  21. We usually justify our letters because our letterhead is bordered and
  22. an aligned right margin looks really snazzy.

  25. Generally, it is considered better to have a ragged right margin in a
  26. letter

  28. gives a more personal appearance. _letter_ will support either, as you
  29. can see from this paragraph. Also note that the
  30. actual physical layout of your

  52. Some writers like to indent paragraphs, others may not. Both styles are
  53. acceptable these days. _Underlining_ and ^boldface^
  54. are best used sparingly.
